Slopes2Summit (S2S)

Slopes2Summit (S2S) is one of the five partnerships of the Great Eastern Ranges Initiative (GER). Established in 2007, the S2S project area extends from the foothills of Mt Kosciuszko in the east to the slopes around Albury to the west.

The S2S partnership is guided by a working group consisting of nine organisations including Nature Conservation Trust of NSW, Murray Catchment Management Authority, Holbrook Landcare Network, Charles Sturt University, CSIRO, Australian National University, Parklands Albury Wodonga, Albury Conservation Company, and the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage.

The partnership has identified seven priority landscapes in the S2S area to focus efforts to improve habitat connectivity allowing plants and animals to move more freely through the landscape. The area encompassing Thurgoona, the Albury Ranges, and Jindera (shown in the map below) is one such priority area.
